1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Shadow ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Shadow is an AI workspace application that provides:

• Voice-first AI assistant functionality
• SSH connections to remote machines for running AI CLI tools
• Integration with cloud AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini)
• On-device AI model execution
• Android Auto and Android TV support
• Project and notes management

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 Account and Credentials

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your SSH credentials and API keys
• You must have proper authorization to access any remote systems you connect to
• You are responsible for all activities that occur through your configured connections

3.2 Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the App to:

• Access systems without proper authorization
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Transmit malicious code or harmful content
• Interfere with or disrupt remote systems or networks
• Engage in any activity that could damage, disable, or impair the App

4. Subscription and Payments

4.1 Free Tier

• The free tier includes 15 messages per day
• All features are available on the free tier
• Unlimited on-device AI and SSH usage

4.2 Paid Subscriptions

• Pro ($5/month): 50 messages per day
• Premium ($20/month): 300 messages per day

4.3 Billing

• Subscriptions are billed through Google Play
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
• Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policy

5. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including:

• SSH Servers: Your own configured remote machines
• OpenAI API: Subject to OpenAI's terms of service
• Anthropic API: Subject to Anthropic's terms of service
• Google Gemini API: Subject to Google's terms of service

You are responsible for compliance with third-party terms when using these services through the App.

6. Intellectual Property

• The App and its original content are owned by the developer
• You retain ownership of any content you create or transmit through the App
• AI-generated content is subject to the terms of the respective AI provider

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your systems
• Any actions taken based on AI-generated content
• Accidents or injuries related to use while driving

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Unauthorized access to systems through the App

10. Termination

• You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it
• We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access for violations of these terms
• Upon termination, your locally stored data will be deleted when you uninstall the App

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or Google Play Store.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable local laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with local jurisdiction requirements.

13. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

These Terms of Service are effective as of December 2025 and apply to all versions of Shadow distributed through Google Play Store.
